This Privacy Policy describes how TradeResearch, LLC ("we") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use TradeResearch.ai.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: email, password (hashed with bcrypt), display name.
• Billing information: Stripe customer ID, subscription status. Card details are stored by Stripe — we never see them.
• Usage data: which features you use, request logs, error logs, IP address, browser/device info.
• User-generated content: trade reviews, watchlist, search queries.

2. How We Use It

• To provide and improve the Service
• To process payments and manage subscriptions
• To send transactional emails (password reset, verification, billing receipts)
• To send product update emails (you can opt out)
• To detect abuse, fraud, or security threats
• To comply with legal obligations

3. Third Parties We Use

• Anthropic — your queries are sent to Claude for analysis. Anthropic does not train on this data.
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting, email delivery, monitoring.
• Google News, MarketWatch, Yahoo Finance — public RSS/quote feeds (read-only).

4. Data Retention

• Account data: retained while your account is active, deleted within 30 days of account closure.
• Usage logs: 90 days.
• Billing records: 7 years (legal requirement).

5. Your Rights

Under GDPR (EU residents) and CCPA (California residents), you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and data ("right to erasure")
• Export your data in a portable format
• Opt out of marketing emails

6. Cookies

We use a single first-party authentication cookie (tr_session) to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

7. Security

We use HTTPS everywhere, encrypted databases, hashed passwords (bcrypt), least-privilege access controls, and automated security updates. No system is 100% secure — report vulnerabilities to security@traderesearch.ai.

8. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes to This Policy

We will notify registered users of material changes by email. The latest version is always at traderesearch.ai/privacy.
